Companion
A Companion provides personal care, help with household chores, companionship and emotional support in their client's home. Most often they live with their clients short-term or long term or they work on a live out basis.
Typical responsibilities:

companionship including relationship building, making conversation and spending quality time together

personal care involving assisting with ambulation, bathing, dressing and undressing and continence support if needed

helping with mobility and assisting in getting around the home

help with medication according to the client’s care plan

household duties such as vacuuming, washing clothes, washing dishes, making beds, etc.

planning, preparing and cooking meals

running errands such as shopping or picking up prescriptions

caring for a pet

A good carer is someone who truly cares about others and is very patient, trustworthy and a problem solver.
