A governess is a specialist nanny or a childcare worker who is normally focusing on certain skills or educational targets of the children in their home or during their travels (GCSE, foreign language, music, history, religion) while also ensuring their general well-being. The children they are looking after are normally a minimum of 5 years old.​ They often travel with the family.
